Instrument composed of two metallic elements. Each one of them with round flat ends, united by a thinner central segment, also made of metal. On this central segment and on the round part ends, there are small holes by which fine strings go through. The two metallic segments are united by one of the strings located in one of the extremities. The sound produced by the instrument has undetermined pitch. The Museum has two pairs of shkashek. One of the elements in each pair is damaged in one of the round ends ( metal parts are missing).
Also known as karabib, they are metal castanets used by natives from the Republic of the Sudan, in Africa. Each pair is composed by two pieces united by thin strings.
