ORQUESTRA DE VIOLÕES DA AV-RIO [AV-RIO Guitar Orchestra] – Associação de Violão do Rio de Janeiro [Guitar Association of Rio de Janeiro]

One of the most important guitar orchestras in activity in Rio de Janeiro, the Orquestra de Violões da AV-RIO was created in early 2009. The orchestra’s rehearsals, until its suspension due to the pandemic, took place at the Centro Municipal de Referência da Música Carioca Artur da Távola [Municipal Reference Center of Carioca Music Artur da Távola], always on Saturday afternoons. Its repertoire includes works from various styles and historical periods, from composers of traditional concert music to contemporary production.

We present a selection of works performed in the Concert for the Celebration of the 10 years of the Orchestra, recorded live on October 27, 2019, at the Centro Municipal de Referência da Música Carioca Artur da Távola.
